Joan Drabczyk

Joan M. Drabczyk, 78 years old, died on Sunday morning, January 5, 2020 at Staten Island University Hospital in Staten Island, NY. She was born in Philadelphia, PA on March 6, 1941. Daughter of the late Hugh and Gladys (Bischoff) Kearney. She grew up in Philadelphia and attended Cathedral Grade School and John W. Hallahan High School. She, her husband and children lived in and around the Philadelphia area before moving to Brooklyn, NY in the early 70’s. She worked at Century 21 in Brooklyn for 20 years before retiring. Joan loved bingo and going to the casino. She was predeceased by her husband, John Drabczyk. She is survived by her children, Donna Valenti (Marty), John (Tracy), Paul (Michelle) and Michelle Apostolou (George),13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She is also predeceased by her siblings, Gladys McKennon, William, Joseph, Patricia Bailey, and Geraldine DiGrazia.

Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing at La Rosas Funeral Home, 761 4th Ave. Brooklyn, NY on Friday, January 10 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Interment will be at Calverton National Cemetery, 210 Princeton Blvd., Calverton, NY immediately following viewing. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made in the form desired by family and friends.
