Hilton Joseph, “Boy”, “Joe”, “Indio” will be forever remembered by his light hearted humorous personality. Always greeting people with a broad smile and a fist bump. "Give me a bounce, give me a pound". Hugs too!
Joe came to New York from Trinidad in the 70's looking for a better life for his family. As a prideful Trinidadian, he also respected his new home becoming a US citizen. He settled in Sunset Park Brooklyn where over the years he made many friends and touched all of their lives. He was always willing to help out his friends and neighbors. Everyone knew him for his welcoming demeanor. He was always smiling and socializing with everyone he came across. He was known for his willingness to share, his pride, and his ride. Humility and empathy were his most common characteristic traits.
At work he was the classic prankster. Always doing something to make you laugh. From picking your pocket to putting questionable things in people’s pockets. He was always looking for a good laugh or a raise out of you, all in good fun. He loved an audience for his pranks.
He is survived by his grandson and two sisters . Unfortunately his only child, Rachael succumbed to cancer In July of 2016. Devastated by this loss he was never quite the same.
He lived out his last three years at Phoenix Rehabilitation Center. He danced with nurses and loved listen to a wide variety of music.
