Emelina Cantres

Emelina Cantres, age 78 went to heaven at 6:18 am March 23, 2019 surrounded by loved ones in her home. She was the daughter of Francisco Marquez-Carmona and Maria Teresa Oquendo born in Santurce, Puerto Rico.  She is survived by her four children Elizabeth Carmona, Felix Cantres, Maria Cantres and Julia Cantres and her 15 Grandchildren including myself Frances Roman and her 13  great grandchildren. My grandmother touched many lives and although she only birth four children she has raised many as her own. Nana ( as we called her )  like many grandmothers, was the glue and the backbone of our family.  Nana always put others before herself and her acts of selflessness lead her to raise her great grandchildren  up to the day she passed.  We are all so lucky to have experienced her love even if at times it was tough.
